Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said after talks with NATO representatives that no compromise had been reached on a ban on entry into Kosovo for holders of Serbian documents, including persons and vehicles, from 1 September.

In a statement, he said: “After a quarter of an hour after midnight, we said goodbye to our European and American guests, and we will continue our negotiations later, and I am sure that in the coming days we will be able to reach at least a small part of the compromise, because it is clear that we can’t come to that decision on license plates and some other big issues.”

Notably, Vučić’s closed-door talks with EU Special Representative Miroslav Lajak and US Representative for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar began on Thursday afternoon and then resumed after a pause at 10 p.m., and ended overnight without making any statements to the media.
