Kurdish forces in northeast Syria have arrested dozens of people linked to the terrorist organization ISIS in the Al-Hol refugee camp.

The camp, run by the Syrian Democratic Forces, is located less than 10 kilometers from the border with Iraq and is home to about 56,000 people, including, according to the UN, 10,000 foreigners, most of whom are relatives of ISIS fighters. displaced Syrians and Iraqi refugees.

This operation, launched by the Kurdish forces, is aimed at “arresting the leaders of the organization in the camp and those who carry out terrorist operations, in addition to taking fingerprints and obtaining new statistics of the inhabitants of the camp, according to what Siamand Ali Kurdish YPG, the most prominent members of the Syrian Democratic Forces, AFP was told.

He explained: “Our forces have started to remove the empty tents in the camp where ISIS uses them during their attacks, and our forces have started to register the names of the residents and take their fingerprints.”
