Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh indicated that “the government is supporting our heroic prisoners’ struggle for their dignity and self-respect by all means.”

Shtayyeh held the Israeli government “responsible for violating their rights under the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law by calling for the release of patients, women and children.”

He indicated that “the Ministry of Awqaf, under the leadership of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, will launch a campaign to collect donations to help the victims in Pakistan and Sudan.”

On behalf of the Iraqi Council of Ministers, he expressed condolences to the Prime Ministers of Pakistan and Sudan and their government officials, as well as to the Pakistani and Sudanese peoples for the victims of the floods, noting that “he will ask the Ministry of Health and Civil Defense to prepare a team to support our people in two fraternal countries.

He stressed that “our educational battle this year is taking place in Jerusalem and I salute its students, all students, teachers, all teachers and administrative staff in all Palestinian schools.”
