The official Syrian media announced the missile attack of the Zionist regime on the Aleppo International Airport, and the Syrian air defense repelled another Israeli attack in the skies of Damascus and its suburbs on Wednesday evening.
The official Syrian news agency, SANA, announced that the air defense intercepted hostile missiles in the airspace of Damascus and its suburbs and shot down a number of them.
This news agency quoted a military source as reporting that the Israeli army launched a missile attack on Aleppo International Airport.
This source added: The shelling of the Zionist regime, which took place at around 20:00 yesterday, Wednesday, caused material damage to the airport.
In turn, local sources reported that the bombing targeted the airport and its ammunition depots, causing a fire west of the airport.
No other details are available yet, and the Israeli side has not commented yet.
A similar Israeli bombardment had previously rendered Damascus International Airport inaccessible, before the relevant authorities took steps to repair it.
For years, the positions of Syrian regime forces and groups affiliated with Iran in Syria have been subjected to repeated Israeli bombardments, and Israel says it wants to prevent what it calls Iran’s military presence there.
