The President of the European Commission emphasized that “we can compensate for the import of Russian gas from other sources”, noting that “Russia manipulates the gas market and is an unreliable partner.”

She indicated during a press conference from Brussels that “we are 82% ready for joint storage of member countries, and this is a success for us”, pointing out that “we have found other alternative sources of Russian gas from countries such as Norway, Algeria and USA”, noting that “we have huge investments in alternative energy sources to achieve the complete elimination of Russian gas.”

He stated that “we must reduce our electricity consumption and we will work on this with the member countries”, stating that “we will put a ceiling on the price of gas from Russia to deprive it of the profits used in the war in Ukraine”.

Earlier today, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a speech at the Eastern Economic Forum that “we will not comply with contracts for the export of oil and gas if a price ceiling is set,” stressing that “we will stop exporting gas and oil to certain countries if they are contrary to our interests.”
