Al-Eryani stressed that “whenever the Iranian regime faces a hitch in negotiations to revive the nuclear deal, it resorts to using its tools in the region, led by the Houthi terrorist militias, to create and fuel crises, including alleging that oil-derived ships do not call at the ports of Hodeidah.”

He pointed out that “since the beginning of August, Houthi fighters have been forcing oil traders to violate the UN mechanism in place since December 2019 to import oil products through the ports of Hodeidah in order to disrupt the regular flow of oil products.” ships through the port and create a crisis that the citizens pay for.”

He also stated that “the government has taken the initiative to grant exclusive consent to the UN request to allow a number of fuel ships to enter the ports of Hodeidah, provided that its legal procedures are completed simultaneously under the UN mechanism in the interests of the national interest and to limit the consequences of the actions of the Houthis on citizens “.

Al-Eryani emphasized that “the government feels its constitutional and moral responsibility to its citizens, including those living in areas controlled by the Houthis, and did not impose any restrictions on the entry of oil-producing ships into the ports of Hodeidah in order to alleviate human suffering and miss the opportunity for the militias to blackmail the international community and illicit enrichment.”

He said that “the government has facilitated the unloading procedures for 35 ships carrying 963,492 metric tons of oil products in the port of Hodeidah, and all of them have applied since the beginning of the truce in fulfillment of their obligations under the terms of the truce and reaffirm their firm position in support of efforts to ensure calm and peace.”

In addition, the minister called on the international community and the UN “to put pressure on the Houthi militia to stop violating the mechanism for importing oil products through the ports of Hodeidah, which has been carried out since the beginning of the truce and work in all Yemeni ports, and to stop profiting from the war economy at the expense of human suffering” .
