WATCH: Charles formally proclaims king after joining Council

“I will continue to follow the inspiring example I have set in maintaining constitutional government and strive for peace, unity and prosperity for the people of these islands and for the Commonwealth kingdoms and territories around the world,” King said.

“To this end, I know that I will be supported by the love and loyalty of the people I am called to dominate, and to be guided in the performance of these duties by the advice of their elected parliaments.” he continued.

King Charles also took a formal oath of office regarding his constitutional responsibility for the security of the Church of Scotland, a tradition that only began when the Scottish royal family ascended the English throne only to the Scottish and English state.

“I, Charles the Third, by the grace of God, King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of my Other Kingdoms and Territories, solemnly swear and swear that I will not hesitate and not hold. Laws passed by the Parliaments of both Realms, in particular for the Establishment of the true Protestant religion established by a law entitled “Act to Protect the Protestant Religion and Presbyterian Government of the Presbyterian Church,” and to unite the Two Kingdoms with the government, sect, discipline, rights and privileges of the Church of Scotland.
