Charles wrote on the casket: “In memory of the lovers and faithful,” along with the letter “R” for rex, Latin for king or ruler, the letter that accompanied the late queen’s acronym and symbol E2R before her death.
Charles issued a number of personal messages about the late Queen, saying he would miss his “dear mother”.
The king, the eldest of the queen’s four children, led the royal family and the public at the funeral of the queen, who died on September 8 at the age of 96.
“Over the past 10 days, my wife and I have been overwhelmed by the many messages of condolence and support we have received from this country and around the world,” said King Charles, who is in Britain after his mother’s death. In a statement.
