Tunisian Minister of Higher Education Moncef Boukater emphasized the impossibility of “integrating Tunisian students studying in Ukraine, who number more than 1,400, in the medical faculties of Tunisia due to limited admission opportunities.”

In a statement to Mosaic, he added that “during the 2022-2023 academic year, 900 students were sent to medical universities in Tunisia, which makes it impossible to integrate all students studying in Ukraine.”

Bookter reported that he “contacted the Minister of Higher Education of a neighboring country, whose name is not mentioned, in order to facilitate the integration of Tunisian students who wish to enter medical colleges in this country”, noting that “several students were ordained in agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in last year to facilitate this process.”

He stated his desire to “monitor the situation of these students, such as in a recent meeting with the Minister of Health, to consider what can be provided to them within the limits of the possibilities, as he put it”, explaining that “An agreement was reached with the Minister of Health to enable distance learning students to conduct interrogations in medical colleges and hospitals, announcing that he will release a message on the matter shortly.

The minister’s statement came on the sidelines of a national education license training seminar that took place this morning in the city of Sousse.
