The European Union expressed “extreme concern” about the damage to the Nord Stream gas pipelines, and these incidents are not accidental.

He stated: “All information indicates that what happened was active action and we will support the investigation to uncover what happened.”

European Council President Charles Michel said in a social media statement that “the acts of sabotage on the Nordstream pipeline appear to be an attempt to further destabilize energy supplies to the European Union.” Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said yesterday that “the oil spill from Nord Stream was caused by a deliberate act.”

The Swedish Seismological Service said: “We have detected strong underwater explosions in areas around the Nord Stream gas pipeline, coinciding with monitoring of reduced gas flows.” On September 26, the Danish Maritime Authority reported “a gas leak in the Baltic Sea near the route of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline connecting Russia with Germany.”
