Israel’s nuclear chief said at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conference on Wednesday his country could share nuclear technology and know-how with Arab and Muslim countries that are part of the Trump-brokered Abraham Accords.
“We hope that the new spirit demonstrated in the Abraham Agreements in our region will show the way for constructive direct dialogue, including nuclear forums, in our region,” said the Director-General of the Israel Atomic Energy Commission. Moshe Edri mentioned this in a conversation in Vienna.
“Israel’s advanced technology provides us with a significant level of knowledge and capabilities that we are ready to share with others, of course, under the auspices of the IAEA,” he said.
“It is now clear that Iran is pursuing a military nuclear program, acquiring technology and knowledge aimed at producing elements for nuclear weapons construction. “This activity was carried out in many unreported areas using a variety of nuclear materials,” he said.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain, with which Israel signed the Ibrahim Agreement, which normalizes relations, have a common interest in the Jewish state in combating the Iranian threat.
Addressing Iran, Edri said that the regime’s nuclear program has been under investigation by the IAEA for years.
Tehran has made it a condition to return to the failed nuclear deal, ending the IAEA’s investigation into three undeclared sites in Iran where traces of uranium were found.
But IAEA chief Rafael Grossi pledged on Monday to continue the investigation.

Edri said in his speech: “Iran continues to fail to provide credible explanations or explanations about the nature of these past activities and continues to mislead the Agency and the international community about its nuclear covert activities.
“The recent Board of Governors resolution condemning Iran’s lack of cooperation with the Agency and long-standing open questions reflect growing international concern over Iran’s misconduct.
In addition, Iran continues to develop, test and deploy long-range ballistic missiles and supports terrorist organizations in the Middle East, in direct violation of UN Security Council resolutions. Obtaining Iran’s nuclear weapons is not an option that Israel or the world can afford.”
Edri also noted that four out of five cases of violations of the nuclear non-proliferation treaty, known as the NPT, occurred in the Middle East – Iran, Iraq, Libya and Syria.
He criticized the IAEA’s “Arab Group” for “abusing” its position to “exclude Israel”, including bringing “Israel’s nuclear capabilities” to the fore each year: the region. These actions are doomed to fail.”

“Now, more than ever, nuclear safety and security must be a top priority at the global level…
“In light of recent events in Ukraine, the nuclear security debate is particularly relevant today. Threats to nuclear safety and security know no bounds.
“We must not ignore the repeated and clear threat of attack on Israel’s nuclear facilities by Iran and its proxies. Last year, Israel’s nuclear research centers were again directly attacked. These threats require Israel to act and continue to protect its nuclear facilities. Facilities have been upgraded and strengthened to meet IAEA security standards to withstand any attack.
