“To save his father”… a Saudi youth fled from the kingdom!

Nasser Awad Al-Qarni, the son of a famous Saudi preacher imprisoned in Saudi Arabia, announced on Saturday that he fled the kingdom and reached a “safe place” in his country to “defend his father and the detainees”.

Al-Qarni’s son confirmed in a video clip posted on his Twitter account that he had left Saudi Arabia to defend his father, “an arrest that prosecutors are calling for his execution and to save what is in his country.” “

Nasser said in this clip: “I know that talking inside may lead to arrest and he was arrested even while I remained silent, just because I am the son of Dr. Awad Al-Qarni” and added: “We have inside. “I finished all the possibilities for my father’s release and to stop the unjust oppression that has been done to him.”

He continued: “More demand to stop the violations means the inevitable fate of arrest and abuse. I came out to save what can be saved in my country by supporting the detainees and removing the injustice of my father who is threatened with death.”

He added: “Unfortunately, my patriotism is falling not only in the field of human rights, but also in all fields socially, economically and politically.”

At the end of this video, he said: “Unfortunately, I announce that I am outside my country. Like all young people, I wished to express my opinion when I was in my country.”

On September 12, 2017, Saudi security authorities arrested Al-Qarni as part of a campaign to arrest a number of intellectuals, preachers, and activists, according to Mena Human Rights Foundation.

According to the Saudi daily Sabab, Saudi authorities are bringing several charges against Al-Qarni, including “supporting the Muslim Brotherhood, inciting war in areas of conflict and sedition, inciting to insult the leaders of other countries… and other charges.” .
