Russia launched a new wave of missiles on Ukrainian territory on Monday, hitting the energy infrastructure again. The Ukrainian president adds that “maximum efforts” are being made to restore power to all affected regions.

“To stabilize the electrical network it was necessary to switch to emergency cuts in many regions. From Zakarpattia to the kyiv region, from the Kirovohrad region to Sumy and Kharkiv, ”he said in his usual speech.

Zelensky says most of the Russian missiles were shot down

According to Zelensky, most of the 70 missiles fired by Russian forces were shot down, but the attacks left four people dead. Appreciating the air defense systems provided by Western partners, the Ukrainian leader said that it is not yet possible to guarantee the complete safety of the Ukrainian skies.

Every destroyed Russian missile is concrete proof that terror can be defeated. But unfortunately, we still cannot guarantee the complete safety of our skies.”

The alert sirens sounded again this Monday in various parts of Ukraine. The attacks were launched shortly after the explosions at two Russian airbases., which caused the death of three people. The Russian Defense Ministry attributed the attack to kyiv forces, information that has since been confirmed to the New York Times by a senior Ukrainian official. This is the boldest attack by Ukrainian troops on Russian territory in nine months of war.
