Images broadcast this day by Russian television show Putin at the wheel of a car, affirming that he was on the bridge, recovered after the damage suffered on October 8 in a car bomb attack.
This is his first visit to the peninsula, annexed by Russiasince the start of the military offensive in Ukraine on February 24.
After the partial destruction of the bridge in the attack, the Russian president accused the Ukrainian secret services of having committed a “terrorist act” with the cooperation of foreign countries.
In retaliation, Moscow launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure shortly thereafter, attacks it has repeated ever since.
Putin had inaugurated the 19-kilometre bridge at the wheel of a truck in May 2018.
