Seven countries want Erdogan to win the Nobel Peace Prize for his “mediation efforts” in the Ukraine war

For his “successful mediation” in the war in Ukraine, seven countries – such as Azerbaijan, Hungary or Pakistan – support the Turkish president to win the Nobel Peace Prize. The decision will be known in December.

“The mediation efforts in the negotiations are the only success to date.” This is how the Hungarian Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjarto, praised the diplomatic initiatives of the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in the war in Ukraine. Due to this supposedly successful diplomatic mission, Seven countries support the head of state of Turkey to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

The head of Hungarian diplomacy went even further and assured that Erdogan is the “only leader” who, so far, has managed to obtain a “Successful Mediation” in the war in Ukraine, alluding to the fact that Turkey had mediated, together with the United Nations, in an agreement with kyiv and Moscow for the resumption of grain exports from Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea.

For Szijjarto, who was speaking together with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Çavusoglu at a conference on the sidelines of a meeting of the Organization of Turkish States (OTS) Council, he stressed that peace in Ukraine can only be achieved through negotiations, something that Turkey has already mediated. has proven to be possible.

Apart from Hungary, which is only a mere observer in the OTS, the Organization of Turkish States was created in 2009 and is made up of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. All these countries support the Turkish president to receive the award that rewards the person who has contributed the most to peace efforts during a year.

One more country also supports Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by winning the Swedish Academy Award: Pakistan. The head of the Islamabad Senate delivered a letter to the country’s parliament justifying why. “Russia’s war against Ukraine quickly turned into a nuclear escalation that could have ended in catastrophe for the entire world. Due to unremitting efforts, accurate and effective [do Presidente turco]averted a global disaster.”

The proposal, which also designates Erdoğan as a “statesman and leader who seeks prosperity not only for his country, but also for the region and the world at large,” was unanimously approved by the Pakistani parliament.

Potential suggestions from countries and other entities for the Nobel Peace Prize end this Tuesday. Voting will take place at the beginning of October and the identity of the prize winner will be known on December 10, at an event in the Norwegian capital, Oslo.
