The information is provided by the EFE news agency, according to which, around 10:35 local time, the Sasemar 103 maritime rescue plane sighted a vessel 90 miles from Gran Canaria.
The rescue ship Polyhymnia moved to thehaving rescued 51 people, of which 42 were men and nine women.
The Polimnia is heading to the port of Arguineguín, in the south of Gran Canaria, where it is expected to arrive around 7:50 p.m. local time.
