Deeming it “extremely unlikely” that the drones managed to break through the Russian defense system, the United States argues that the attack on the Kremlin was programmed by the country, as propaganda.

The Institute for the Study of War, a US-based analyst organization, accused the Russian government on Thursday of organizing an attack on the Kremlin building itself, in Moscow, on Tuesday, as an act of propaganda.
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW), quoted by the Spanish news agency EFE, says that “it was an attempt to bring the question of war to the Russian population and set the conditions for a broader social mobilization“.
Men on the roof, false flag, kyiv audacity. What are the theories about the drones that exploded over the Kremlin?
The ISW group of North American analysts reports that the Russian authorities have recently taken new internal air defense measures, including in the Moscow area and, therefore, “It is extremely unlikely” that unmanned aerial devices (drones) managed to cross the different “defensive layers”.
Images captured by satellites and dated last January show that the Russian authorities installed Pantsir surface-to-air missile defense systems near Moscow to reinforce the defensive circles around the country’s capital.
For the ISW, an attack “undetected” by the defense systems against a target as important as the Kremlin would constitute a ‘Big shame for Russia’.
The Kremlin accused Ukraine of carrying out the drone attack, calling it a terrorist act.
Kremlin accuses kyiv of trying to kill Putin with drones, Ukraine denies it
For the American ISW investigators, if the drone attack had not been internally organized and had been unexpected, “it would be very likely that the official Russian response would have been much more disorganized” and not “so consistent”.
“The rapid and coherent presentation of an official Russian narrative of the attack suggests that Russia staged the incident, very close to May 9 (the day marking the capitulation of Nazi Germany, in 1945), in order to place—before the population—the war. situation as a factor that puts the existence of the country at risk”, considers the ISW.
The Washington-based organization also noted that “some Russian nationalist bloggers took advantage of the ‘drone strike’ to ask the Intensification of Russian participation in the war. against Ukraine.
For ISW, “the Kremlin may be planning to carry out other ‘false flag’ operations and increase disinformation before the start of a counteroffensive to increase domestic support for the war.”
The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, defended this Wednesday that “we must be cautious” in the face of information or statements from the Kremlin but did not want to speculate on the subject without knowing who was truly responsible for the events.
