Argentine prosecutor wants trial against Vice President Cristina Kirchner

Federal prosecutor Carlos Rivolo revealed that the investigation stage is complete and that he asked the judge in the case, María Eugenia Capuchetti, to send it to trial.

The Argentine prosecutor who is conducting the investigation into the frustrated attack against the country’s vice president, Cristina Kirchner, in September 2022, in front of her home, asked this Monday to bring the three detainees to trial for the cause.

The main detainee is Fernando Sabag Montiel, accused of being the author of a shot to the face of the vice presidentwhile his girlfriend Brenda Uliarte was also detained, as alleged co-perpetrator of the crime of homicideand Nicolás Carrizo, from whose mobile phone communications would have been made related to the attack and who is considered a secondary participant.

The botched attack came when Sabag Montiel, a Brazilian 35 at the time, accosted Cristina Kirchner as she greeted supporters outside her Buenos Aires home days after a prosecutor began the trial in the that He was accused of corruption crimes during his tenure as president (2007-2015).

Since then, the vice president, who was sentenced in December to six years in prison and life political disqualification -a sentence that has not yet become final-, has reiterated her criticism of the Court, which she accuses of persecuting her.

Also, earlier this month, Cristina Kirchner protested the alleged “cover-up” of the attack and accused Patricia Bullrich, presidential candidate for the country’s main opposition coalition.

On Twitter, the former president referred to a report by the Argentine newspaper Página 12 that reveals that a key witness in the case, the former adviser to opposition lawmaker Gerardo Milman, told the court that she did not delete data from her cell phone “on her own.” her own will, but he was taken to the offices of Patricia Bullrich, where an expert removed the contents of her device, that of another adviser and that of Milman himself.

According to the newspaper, the witness was with Milman in a bar when another congressman heard him say “When they kill her, I’m on my way to the coast”just two days before the attack.
