US, Japan and South Korea agree to share intelligence on North Korean missiles

The three countries “recognized the trilateral efforts to activate an information exchange mechanism to exchange data in real time” to improve the ability to stop missiles.

The United States, Japan and South Korea announced on Saturday that they will share information on North Korean missile attacks by the end of the year, according to a statement issued after a meeting of their defense ministers in Singapore.

The three countries “acknowledged trilateral efforts to activate a clearing-house mechanism to exchange data in real time,” with the goal of “enhancing each country’s ability to stop and assess launched missiles,” the statement said.

The agreement was reached on the sidelines of the Shangri-La Dialogue event, Asia’s most important security forum, which began on Friday in Singapore and ends on Sunday.
