Another Russian general dies, first this year
The information is from British military intelligence: it is “almost certain” that the Major General Sergei Goryachev died during a missile attack in southern Ukraine last Wednesday. During 2022, several top commanders in the Russian army died on the front lines of the battle.
“Goryachev is the first confirmed Russian general killed in Ukraine since early 2023,” the UK Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

Russia illegally took 150 children from Lugansk, Ukraine accuses
On June 8, the transport of 150 Ukrainian children from the occupied territories to Russia took place. The accusation is made by kyiv and, with these figures, there are already some 20,000 minors that Russia – which denies the accusations – will have taken out of the country at war.
According to the National Center of Resistance of Ukraine, the children were transferred from the Starobilsk district of Lugansk to two centers in the Prikuban district of Russia’s Karachay-Cherkess republic.
In total, 19,393 children were illegally transferred to Russia, according to statements by President Volodymyr Zelensky in May.
The alleged kidnapping of Ukrainian children prompted the International Criminal Court to issue an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
