Mozambique wants to cooperate with BRICS and access the organization’s bank

The president of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, affirmed this Thursday in Johannesburg that the country wants to cooperate with the BRICS countries and that it intends to access the bank’s funds from that multilateral organization.

He also recognized that “the BRICS cooperation initiative with non-BRICS countries such as Mozambique, combined with its expansion, constitutes added value for the implementation of initiatives Africans” for the development of the continent.

He also defended “industrialization through the consolidation of regional value chains of various products”, based on “the construction of infrastructures that connect the African continent to promote the continental free trade zone”.

“It highlights the importance of processing strategic agricultural products and minerals in our countries, combining resources from various countries for economic gain, economies of scale and access to energy on viable conditions, where Mozambique should play an important role in view of the potential of its energy matrix and strategic geographic location”, he also pointed out.
