Joe Biden’s campaign raises more than $28 million in a single action

A donation collection event took place in Los Angeles and was attended by former President Barack Obama and personalities such as Julia Roberts, George Clooney and Barbra Streisand.

Joe Biden raised more than 28 million dollars (26 million euros) in a campaign held Saturday night in Los Angeles, in which he met with former President Barack Obama and personalities such as Julia Roberts, George Clooney and Barbra Streisand.

The Biden and Kamala Harris campaign claimed to have raised a historic amount for a single Democratic fundraiser, surpassing the $26 million it raised in March at a similar event in New York.

Biden and Obama appeared on the set of the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles for a conversation with television host Jimmy Kimmel, in which they spoke about former president and Republican opponent Donald Trump (2017-2021), and some of the president’s political achievements democrat. .

Kimmel called Trump “Orange Julius Caesar” and compared his term to “a colonoscopy” that people try to forget.

For his part, Obama stressed that he felt very “proud” of the “extraordinary work” that Biden did and urged those present to vote for the current President in the next presidential elections on November 5.

Also present at the meeting were the singer Sheryl Lee Ralph, Barbra Streisand and the actors Jason Bateman and Jack Black, who joined in the anti-Trump jokes while they were on stage.

The fundraiser went ahead, despite hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters gathering outside the venue to try, unsuccessfully, to block entrances to the event and disrupt the continuation of the fundraiser.
