The Russian president landed in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, this morning for a two-day summit on security and defense in the region, and will meet his Chinese and Turkish counterparts today.

According to Russian media, António Guterres is also expected to attend this meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), a forum created by Russia and China in 2001.
The SCO leaders “will discuss the current situation and prospects for deepening multifaceted cooperation within the organization and improving its activities,” the Kremlin said in a statement posted on its website.
