Donald Trump vows to return to the spot where he was shot for another rally

The Republican rally in Pennsylvania was interrupted by gunfire. Now, Trump is promising to return to the traditionally Democratic state, which only voted red in 2016, to see him in the White House.

Donald Trump wants to return to the place where he was the victim of an assassination attempt. The former president and new Republican candidate for the White House promised on Wednesday that he would hold a new rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“I’m going back to Butler, Pennsylvania to attend a big, beautiful rally.“Honoring the soul of our beloved firefighter hero, Corey, and the brave patriots who were injured two weeks ago,” Trump wrote on his social network Truth Social.

On July 13, the Republican candidate was speaking at an outdoor event in Butler, when a 20-year-old man, Thomas Crooks, fired eight shots. One of the shots hit Donald Trump, wounding him in the right ear. Two other people were injured and one man died. Corey Comperatore was 50 years old and stood in front of his wife and daughters to protect them from the gunfire, ending up dying.

Firefighter ‘threw himself in’ to protect his wife and daughters. Who is the fatal victim of the attack on Trump?

According to Trump, his return will be a time of remembrance, but also of struggle. “What a day it will be: fight, fight, fight!” he wrote, using what became one of his campaign slogans. Despite the promise, the former President left the details for later: “stay tuned,” he appealed.

Pennsylvania is a traditionally Democratic state. In the eight presidential elections held since 1992, the party, currently led by Joe Biden, has achieved seven victories. The exception was the 2016 elections, in which the Republican candidate was, precisely, Donald Trump.

The northeastern state is one of the most important in elections, with 19 electoral votes. In 2016, the Republicans achieved a narrow victory with 48.2% of the votes, compared to 47.5% for the Democrats.

If true, Trump’s return to Butler will be as the official candidate of the Republican Party, after being nominated as such at the Party Convention, in the week immediately following the attack.

At the convention, Trump, with a bandage on his ear and his fist raised, was greeted as a hero and given the same shouts he left in his post of “fight, fight, fight.” The former president left Milwaukee with the official nomination and also a vice president, JD Vance, another change in a possible return to Pennsylvania.
