Jews who vote for Harris should ‘get their heads examined,’ Trump says

Donald Trump claims that if he is not elected, “the Jewish people will have a lot to do with the defeat,” which is “hard to believe.” The former US president also claims that “Israel has to defeat Kamala Harris.”

Former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said American Jews voting for his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, should “test themselves.”

According to a recent poll by the Jewish Electoral Institute, 72% of American Jews support Harris, while only 25% support Trump.

“It’s hard to believe,” said the Republican, who attended Thursday’s meeting of the American Israel Council, one of the largest Jewish organizations in the world.

At the event in Washington, Trump recalled the pro-Israeli policies he implemented during his term in office (2017-2021) and described the weak support of Jews at the polls as unacceptable.

“If I don’t win this election, and I’ve been very good, in my opinion the Jewish people will have a lot to do with a defeat”said.

Trump said the US elections were “the most important in Israel’s history” and added that “Israel must defeat Kamala Harris.”

During the presidential debate on September 10, Trump said Harris “hates Israel” and that the Jewish state will cease to exist within two years if the Democrat wins.

The vice president said she would always defend “Israel’s right to defend itself,” while also expressing her support for the two-state solution for Palestine. Harris also called for a reconstruction plan for the Gaza Strip.

Both Harris and US President Joe Biden were invited to the American-Israeli Council meeting but declined to participate.

Hours before the meeting, the American television CNN stated that an ally of Trump, the candidate for governor of North Carolina (southeast) Mark Robinson had made racist comments on the Internet, where he also He referred to himself as a “black Nazi.”

In late May, a Trump account on the businessman’s social media network, Truth Social, posted a video with references to a “unified Reich” amid hypothetical headlines about the Republican’s eventual victory in the November 5 presidential election.

However, in early May, Trump accused Biden of running a “Gestapo administration,” a reference to the Nazi secret police.

Trump has previously used rhetoric echoing Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, saying immigrants who enter or remain in the United States without authorization are “poisoning the blood of the country” and calling his opponents “worms.”

The former president also came under fire for dining with a white nationalist Holocaust denier in 2022 and for downplaying the 2017 rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, where white nationalists chanted, “Jews don’t give us. They will replace us!”
