The Braga City Council will create a service center for foreign citizens, establishing, for this purpose, protocols with the Portuguese Red Cross and the AIMA (Integration, Migration and Asylum Agency), the municipality announced today.

The future equipment will be installed in the old Braga Contracting Center, on Rua Bernardo Sequeira, adds the municipality’s statement. The new infrastructure, the document continues, arises with the objective of offering a space for reception and specialized care (…) that will facilitate access to essential services, promoting the social, cultural and labor integration of migrants, while supporting their adaptation to local regulations. and opportunities.

According to the municipality, the partnerships with “the Portuguese Red Cross, recognized for its humanitarian and social work, and with AIMA, the entity responsible for promoting integration, migration and asylum, guarantee solid support for this project, which will be a response “specifically to the growing support needs of the migrant population.”

In this context, the municipality of Minho highlights that the future center will provide “a welcoming environment, with specialized legal advice services, support in the regularization of documentation, information on access to employment, health, education and other social services.” .

The measure will be debated at the municipal executive meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, at the Parish Council of Santa Lucrécia de Algeriz, according to the press release.
