US Defense Secretary visits kyiv
US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin arrived in kyiv on Monday for a surprise visit that is expected to focus on strengthening Western support for Ukraine.
According to CNN International, Austin is expected to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov to “discuss Ukraine’s weapons needs and how the United States can continue to support the country’s military next year.” It will also be a visit to take stock of American support over the past two and a half years.
