More than 100 North American tour operators and travel agents will be in the Algarve until Sunday to maintain commercial contacts with Portuguese companies in the sector, the Algarve Tourism Association (ATA) announced this Monday.
The “Visit Portugal Travel Trade Market Place” event, which takes place from Tuesday to Sunday in a hotel in Albufeira, aims to “enhance business opportunities and strengthen commercial relationships with specialized agents” in the United States of America (USA) and Canadareads a statement from ATA.
According to the note, the approximately 120 companies from the Algarve and other regions of the country that will be present at the event will have the opportunity to meet directly with North American and Canadian buyers, including tour operators and specialized travel agents.

According to data provided by Turismo do Algarve, between 2017 and 2023, the US market grew by approximately 200% in relation to the Algarve, becoming the third destination region in Portugal, with a share of overnight stays of 10%.
In the case of the Canadian market, the Algarve is the second most searched destination in Portugal, with a share of around 25%, he concludes.
