Volodymyr Zelensky met with the National Security Council over the case of fake disability certificates in the state and called for the need for political responsibility.
The Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Andriy Kostin, announced his resignation from his position on the Telegram channel, after thanking the President of Ukraine, who called for political responsibility in the case of fake disability certificates.
In the note in which he resigned from his position, the prosecutor general explained that there was a meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky, president of Ukraine, and the country’s Security Council about the “obviously immoral” situation involving accusations “false deficiencies of State employees” and decided to abandon his duties.
At this time, both the Presidency of Ukraine and Andriy Kostin confirmed that there are inspections and processes under investigation and the prosecutor referred to the existence of “many shameful acts of abuse” in the Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office system.
“I consider the position of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to be absolutely correct,” he wrote, stressing that all illegal decisions regarding these applications should be annulled, but pensions and payments related to the same cases should also be annulled.
Volodymyr Zelensky’s Telegram channel also reported the existence of the meeting with the National Security Council on the “abuses committed by employees of various state agencies” who claimed to have disabilities.
“Many facts of obviously false violations and deficiencies of employees have been detected,” he revealed, highlighting that the Prime Minister, the Minister of Health and the Minister of Social Security of Ukraine communicated the measures that should be taken at the government level.
