Joe Biden will travel to Angola in the first week of December, after having been postponed in October. The American president will meet with João Lourenço to discuss regional and security issues.
The president of the United States of America (USA), Joe Biden, will travel to Angola in the first week of December, the White House confirmed this Thursday.
The trip to Angola was initially scheduled for October, but Biden postponed it to monitor the passage of Hurricane Milton through the United States.
In Angola, Biden will be received by the country’s president, João Lourenço, according to White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre.
Biden, noted Jean-Pierre, ““It will recognize Angola’s role as a regional leader and highlight the important transformation in the relationship between the United States and Angola.”
The White House also indicated that both countries are working on several “urgent challenges,” including closing the infrastructure gap in Africa, strengthening peace and security or improving food security.
The North American head of state will also take advantage of the trip to meet with representatives of the private sector.
