In this context, Fadi Abi Samra, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Shams Association, which operates the Sunflowers Theater, explained in relation to Al Akhbar that “the municipality of Beirut has previously asked theater operators to purchase‘ filters ‘for the generator because it does not comply with environmental specifications. But the theater had no financial way to buy this play, so we replaced it with an alternative, and we turned to the Governor of Beirut, Judge Marwan Abboud, to resolve this issue. ” Abi Samra continued: “We were surprised yesterday that the theater was covered with red wax to immerse it in the dark. Think of a theater without electricity as a cemetery! ”
At the same bank, a Lebanese representative said yesterday he received a call from the government’s interim Culture Minister, Muhammad Wissam Al-Murtada, who promised to solve the problem. He added: “Today I have a meeting with the minister, as well as with the captain of the radio, cinema, television and theater representatives, Nima Badawi. Hopefully we can find a solution to the problem, otherwise I will raise my voice to announce the plan to save the theater. ”
