“Well, some of us are promoting this bill,” Dingell said. [Production] Move on. Because we believe this is a crisis and we need to do our best to get started. When this Abbott facility reopens, [are] some warning messages… we want to make sure of that [are] Independent safety inspectors ensure that the formula to be developed is safe for mothers to use with their babies. We’re looking at enlargement-legislation requiring WIC to increase the amount of formula milk mothers can buy. I think we’re looking at everything possible. And there is a recruitment crisis in this country. The FDA is having a hard time getting some of the people it needs. And we’re investing more money to make sure the FDA has the resources it needs to tackle this problem. Now we are talking about our children. When our children are born, they must have adequate nutrition to get the nutrients they need to survive. This is a crisis for all of us.”
