The Minister of Energy of Oman commented on the memorandums of understanding signed by the Sultanate with the Iranian side, saying that “they concern the development of two gas pipeline projects linking the two countries and the Hengam oil field, and were signed after the Iranian side sought to benefit from the gas pipeline while re-exporting and selecting the best alternatives for gas consumption and meeting the needs of large projects”, noting that “the two parties have agreed to form a technical group to review the pipeline project”, since “the pipeline, which was signed in 2013 and is 400 km long, is expected to be pump about 28 million cubic meters of gas over 15 years from Iran to the Sultanate of Oman.
