The deadline for taxpayers to submit the declaration to the IRS on the income obtained in 2021 ends this Thursday, the day on which three months have passed since the beginning of this information obligation.
The most recent official data indicates that 5.5 million IRS statements have been delivered so farof which about a third (32%) filed through the automatic IRS and the rest “manually”.
Of the declarations delivered, 4.7 million have already been settled, of which 2.4 million gave rise to refunds amounting to 2,475 million euros.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the average term of returns made by bank transfer returned to that observed before the pandemic, in 19.2 days. For those who used the automatic SRI mechanism, this average period was 12.6 days.
To date, around 883.6 thousand collection notes have also been issued, for a total of around 1,354 million euros, leaving the rest without effect (without return or collection note).
The return delivery date is, above all, relevant for taxpayers whose profile does not allow them to be protected by the automatic SRI, since for the latter, the provisional declaration made by the Tax and Customs Authority (TA) becomes definitive. at the end of the term and it is considered delivered that the owner does nothing about it.
Contrary to what has happened in previous years, this year there have been no changes in relation to the type of taxpayers who benefit from this automation, which is around three million.
For several years, IRS filing has been done exclusively electronically, but in order to help those who have more difficulty accessing the Internet, thousands of openings have been made available to book in Finance services.
It is also possible to use assisted digital help in more than 1,100 Citizen Shops and Spaces and parish councils.
Remember that this Thursday is the deadline to file the IRS return for all income categories.
The law determines that the IRS assessment must be completed by July 31 and the tax must be paid or returned (by refund) before August 31.
