Former Juventus and Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini has confirmed that playing for his new team, Los Angeles, is the best for him.

“I’m sure this club is perfect for me,” Chiellini said when he was officially introduced at a press conference.

He added: “I spoke with Andrea Pirlo and Alessandro Nesta and they both spoke positively about the American League. Of course, there are many differences between the American League and its Italian counterpart.”

He continued: “This club is perfect for me because it has a lot of young players who can help me. I don’t have the physical qualities that I had 10 years ago, but I can give a lot to my teammates.”

He concluded, “We have to create a mixture of youth and experience in this team to create a group that can win titles.”

In recent days, veteran Welshman Gareth Bale has entered the team, whose contract with Real Madrid has expired after a triumphant career in its ranks.
