WhatsApp has begun testing the extension of the deletion period for messages sent to everyone, as the latest app update on the Android system allows some users to delete messages for up to two days and 12 hours, according to a report published by WA Beta. Information”.
WhatsApp is extending the time limit to 60 hours – 12 hours more than Telegram’s 48-hour limit – from its current feature, which requires messages to be deleted within an hour, eight minutes and 16 seconds.
Extended time testing has begun among a small group of beta users, according to the report, and a wider beta rollout followed by a public rollout could follow in the coming weeks.
WhatsApp is also preparing to allow group admins to delete messages sent by any member of the group to everyone if there is a message that violates group rules or is inappropriate and the same 60 hour time limit may apply here as well, but this feature is still under development and may be launched for beta users in the coming weeks.
