Russian billionaire Yurii Voronov, linked to Gazprom, joined the list of dead linked to the Russian state gas company when he was found dead on Monday in St. Petersburg. His body was discovered with a gunshot to the head floating in a pool at his mansion, which is located in an elite condominium near the aforementioned Russian city.
The 61-year-old oligarch — director of a logistics company linked to Gazprom — is thus the sixth person linked to the Russian state gas company to appear dead this year. The authorities found a pistol next to her body and, at the bottom of the pool, several cartridges, which would have been used.
To investigators, the 61-year-old man’s wife explained, quoted by Metro News, that Voronov believed he was being misled by contractors and partners who had “behaved dishonorably” in recent weeks..
The Russian Investigative Committee, which is investigating the circumstances of Yurii Vorono’s death, believes that will be related to “a dispute with partners”.

In January, even before the conflict in Eastern Europe, 60-year-old Gazprom official Leonid Shulman found dead in the bathroom of his house in the village of Leninsky.
The second death of a Gazprom-linked oligarch came a day after the invasion of Ukraine, on February 25. Alexander Tyulyakov, General Director of the Gazprom Unified Center for Cooperative Security, was found dead in the garage of a country house, also on the outskirts of St. Petersburg.
Coincidence or Putin purge? Since February, five Russian oligarchs have been found dead in his home.
On April 18, the bodies of Vladislav Avaev, the former vice president of Gazprombank, his wife and daughter were found in a multi-million dollar apartment in Moscow.
