State Budget: Chega hopes that the Government “understands the importance of a real reduction of the CRI”

The president of Chega called, this Thursday, on the Government to “understand the importance of a real reduction” of the IRC in the State Budget for 2025, considering that a reduction of just one percentage point does not impact the lives of the companies.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of a meeting with party mayors in Loures, Lisbon district, André Ventura stated that Chega has not yet decided how it will vote on the Government’s proposal to reduce this tax by one percentage point.

“I hope until the last moment that the Government understands the importance of a real reduction of the CIT,” he stated, arguing that reducing this rate by one percentage point “has no impact on the life of companies.”

Chega “will wait until the last moment for the Government to comply, it is not our measure, it is a Government measure, because that is what was in the Government’s program for this year, which is to lower the CRI by two percentage points” , said.

“It seems that we have reached the budget and Chega is the one who wants to lower taxes, the PSD wants to keep taxes more or less as they are. I believe that we should not fail to fulfill what we promised in the electoral campaign, neither in immigration, nor in taxes, nor in justice. The Government promised 2%, we are going to demand that the Government do 2%, otherwise it is a failure, but it is also one more failure for Dr. Luís Montenegro,” he said.
