Banco Montepio obtained a positive consolidated net result of 23.3 million euros in the first half of the year, compared to losses of 33 million euros in the same period of 2021, it was announced this Monday.
In a released statement, Banco Montepio states that the results show “the advance recorded by the banking productwith emphasis on the interest margin and commissions, due to the reduction in operating expenses, as well as lower provisions for impairments and provisions, particularly those related to credit risk”.

Loans to customers (net of impairments) amounted to €11,921 million at the end of June 2022, an increase of €253 million or 2.2% compared to the value recorded at the end of 2021.
Customer deposits amounted to 13,036 million euros as of June 30, 2022which represents an increase of 249 million euros or 1.9% compared to the value of 12,787 million euros registered at the end of 2021, with the private customer segment representing 73% of the total.
