Electricity. The invoices paid by the State to Endesa must specify the cost and benefit of the Iberian mechanism

Updated at 2:22 p.m. with clarification from the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Action that the invoice validation obligations detailed in the order refer only to the contracts made with Endesa.

The electricity bills that reach public entities must include information on the net benefit resulting from the application of the Iberian ceiling to the price of natural gas. This is a condition for its validation and payment, according to an order published this Tuesday that establishes the verification rules imposed by the President of the Government on the invoices issued by Endesa, after the controversy over the rise in electricity prices. The process begins with the contract managers of the public entities themselves and only in the event of non-conformities in the invoices, after an analysis to be carried out by the ENSE (National Entity of the Energy Sector), it is passed on to the Secretary of State for Energy. .
