This year, the Competition Authority carried out raids on six entities in the health sector, linked to the pandemic, with the president of the AdC, Margarida Matos Rosa, expressing concern about the so-called crisis cartels.
We have found more recent situations of illegality of the competition law, particularly in the health sector”, said Margarida Matos Rosa, adding that they are situations in which they are being investigated.
Margarida Matos Rosa, who is being heard in the Budget and Finance Commission to present the plan of activities for this year, responded to a question from the PS deputy, Miguel Cabrita.
This year, and according to the data provided, searches have already been carried out directed at six entities in the health sector linked to the pandemic.
The same data also refers to another search for an entity in the distribution of health and wellness products.
The president of the AdC expressed his concern about the so-called “crisis cartels” -in which companies agree on practices and prices-, stating that these “are on our radar” and are being investigated.
