Construction production rises 2.1% in July

The construction production index accelerated at a year-on-year rate of 2.1% in July, with increases in employment and wages of 1.6% and 6.9%, respectively, the National Institute of Statistics reported on Monday. (INE).

According to the INE, the production index in construction went from an interannual increase of 1.6% in June to 2.1% in July as a result of accelerations in both segments: A “building construction” raised 2.4% in July (1.9% in June) and theCivil Engineering” went from a variation of 1.0% by 1.8% in July.

Regarding the employment and remuneration indices, in the month of analysis there were variations of 1.6% Y 6.9%respectively, compared to the same month of the previous year (2.0% and 6.2% in June).

Compared to June, employment and wages registered variation rates of -0.1% and 3.6%respectively (0.3% and 3.0% in July 2021).
