Millennium BCP, one of the largest Portuguese banks, is the latest company in the country to join the list of those that have already been the target of a computer attack this year. This Monday, the bank’s clients found themselves unable to access the application and the website. If at first the bank described the case as a “communication problem”, some time later it confirmed that, after all, it had been the object of a computer attack.
The official BCP source assured the Observer that “There was no access to customer data.” This was the only response to a set of questions about this security incident, and the bank referred to statements it has already made to the press throughout Monday about this incident.
