When Blake Martinez entered the world of trading cards, he did so, in part, to honor Richard Blau, the childhood friend who died after a battle with bone cancer when he was just 14 years old. “It brings back memories of playing the Pokémon trading card game, and it was totally fun,” he told ESPN. linebacker of the National Football League (NFL, the American football league of the United States). “Brings back the good memories of when we were kids.”
Like many other children of their generation, Martínez and Blau were avid Pokémon players, the well-known brand that was born on video consoles and quickly expanded, among other things, to trading cards and a famous television series.

Martinez is far from the first celebrity to invest in this business, and it’s an investment.
