List F filed a request to challenge the elections for the positions of representatives of the beneficiaries in the General and Supervisory Board (CGS) of ADSE, denouncing “irregularities in electronic voting.”
“List F — ‘For a More Just ADSE’ presented on this date an action to challenge the election of representatives of the beneficiaries of the Institute for Protection and Assistance in Diseases, IP (ADSE, IP), which was carried out on November 28, 29 and 30, based on electronic voting irregularitiesannounced the list headed by Mário Cunha in a statement released on Sunday night.
On November 30, list F had already filed a complaint with the Electoral Commission, which was rejected by a majority.
Under the terms of the Electoral Regulations, article 21, the challenge is presented to the president of the Board of Directors of ADSE, IP, who will direct it to the member of the Government responsible for the institute.
In the statement now released, signed by the representative Hélder Sá, list F states that “It will calmly await the decision of the member of the Government, reserving the right to take legal action.”
According to the provisional results of the election of the representatives of the beneficiaries in the ADSE CGS, in which seven lists competed, 96% of the 929,626 voters abstained.
Elections of the ADSE General and Supervisory Board with 96% abstention
According to data from the Electoral Commission and published on the ADSE portal, 37,880 people voted, equivalent to 4.07% of the total, with 35,083 effective beneficiaries by electronic vote, 2,669 by face-to-face vote and 128 by correspondence.
Two of the four beneficiary representative seats were allocated to list B, which obtained 13,212 votes.
Lists A and D, with 4,931 and 8,065 votes each, respectively, elected one candidate each.
Supported by the Common Front (affected by the CGTP), List B was headed by Henrique Vilallonga.
Under the motto “O Renascimento da ADSE”, List A was headed by João Neto. List D “For a more Just, More Solidarity and More Family ADSE” was headed by Arlindo Ferreira.
The elections for the CGS began on the 28th by electronic vote and ended on November 30 by face-to-face voting.
Elections for the ADSE General and Supervisory Board end this Wednesday
The CGS is responsible for issuing an opinion on the various matters related to the ADSE, on the strategic objectives, plans and reports on activities and budget, as well as supervising the activity of the board of directors.
The president of the CGS, who is currently João Proença, is subsequently elected by the 17 members of the CGS, which includes government representatives. The CGS will also approve a representative of the beneficiaries for the ADSE Board of Directors, where Eugénio Rosa (an economist linked to the CGTP) currently sits.
