The weekly average price of gasoline falls 4% and diesel falls 2.7%

The weekly average price, calculated by the Energy Services Regulatory Entity (ERSE), fell 4% compared to last week for gasoline and 2.7% for diesel, according to a report released this Monday.

According to the regulator, the efficient price was updated, compared to last week, “by -4.0% for gasoline and -2.7% for diesel”, taking into account “the weekly variation in gasoline prices simple 95 at -8.9% and simple diesel at -5.1%”, he highlighted.

The ERSE also revealed, in the weekly Fuel Price Supervision report that, for the week of March 20 to 26, “the efficient price before taxes is 0.818 euros/l [euros/litro] 95 for simple gasoline and 0.909 Euro/l for simple diesel”and after taxes, the price “stands at 1.638 euros/l for 95 gasoline and 1.575 euros/l for diesel.”

On the other hand, compared to the previous week, ERSE indicated that the average retail price announced at the gates and reported in the Balcão Único da Energia, “was 3.3 cents/l [cêntimos/litro] above the efficient price, that week, in the case of simple gasoline 95, and 0.3 cents/l, above in the case of simple diesel”.

Reduction of the tax burden on fuels reaches 34 cents for diesel and gasoline

Thus, in percentage terms, “pure gasoline 95 was advertised on the porches at 1.9% above the efficient price and pure diesel was advertised at 0.2% above the efficient price.”

The efficient price is an average weekly price determined by ERSE, which results from the sum of several factors: the “fuel prices in the reference international markets and the respective maritime freightprimary logistics, including in this portion the strategic and security reserves of the National Petroleum System, cost overruns with the incorporation of biofuels and the retail component plus the respective taxes”.

Also in relation to the previous week, with respect to the reduced prices, published by the DGEG – General Directorate of Energy and Geology, “simple gasoline 95 presented a deviation of -1.0% compared to the efficient price and simple diesel of -4.5%”.

According to the ERSE, “in absolute terms, these estimates are -1.7 cents/l for pure 95 gasoline and -7.0 cents/l for pure diesel, below the respective efficient prices.”
