The Chinese president arrived in Moscow on Monday, the 390th day of the war, for a three-day state visit. During a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Xi Jinping told his “dear friend” that Russia and China should maintain “close relations.” For his part, Vladimir Putin praised his “dear friend” and admitted that Russia is even “a bit envious” of China’s achievements. On the Chinese peace plan to end the war, the Russian leader said he had “read it carefully” and it would be “discussed” in the coming days.
The day was also marked by the news that Russia opened an investigation against the raider and the judges of the International Criminal Court, in response to the arrest warrant issued to arrest Putin. The ICC has already ensured that the order does not expire if the war in Ukraine ends.
