TAP: operating administrator and former interim executive president Ramiro Sequeira heard this Wednesday at the investigation committee

The operational administrator and former interim executive president of TAP, Ramiro Sequeira, will be heard this Wednesday in the parliamentary commission of investigation, on the compensation of Alexandra Reis and the private management of the airline, where he arrived in 2018.

Ramiro Sequeira joined TAP in August 2018 from Spanish competitor Iberia to take over as operational manager (COO), in the Executive Committee chaired by Antonoaldo Neves.

When arriving at the company, Ramiro Sequeira told the TAP newspaper how priorities help improve on-time rates, cost control and productivity.

“I understand that TAP is undergoing a transformation process and this same word has two sides: change/uncertainty, which must be managed with assertiveness and dialogue, and opportunities/growth, which must be lived with determination and positivity. I usually say that the challenges must be faced with BEM: Sense, Effort and Methodology”, she said, on the occasion.

With the return of the airline to State control, in 2020, and the consequent departure of Antonoaldo Neves, Ramiro Sequeira assumed the interim executive presidencyfor 10 months, until the arrival of Christine Ourmières-Widener in mid-2021.

The listening time of each respondent leads to a showdown in the committee. Seguro Sanches abandons work and leaves doubts about its continuity

After the controversy over the compensation of half a million euros paid to the former administrator and former Secretary of State Alexandra Reis, the Government decided to dismiss Ourmières-Widener and the then Chairman of the Board of Directors, Manuel Beja, who were replaced, in April, by Luis Rodrigues.

Alexandra Reis “could have gone back to being a director instead of being fired”, defends Humberto Pedrosa

According to Expresso, Ramiro Sequeira was asked out of the Executive Committee, even advancing that he may be replaced by Mário Chaves, Luís Rodrigues’ right-hand man at SATA and current president of Portugália.

Ramiro Sequeira is the last survivor of the original executive team of the French coach, elected at the general meeting of June 24, 2021, which was also made up of Alexandra Reis (she left in February 2022 and joined Sofia Lufinha’s team in July), Sílvia Mosquera (resigned in March and leaves in June) and João Weber Gameiro (he resigned in October 2021 and was replaced by Gonçalo Pires).
