The working group that works on the revision of the regime that applies to domestic workers asked the Government to extend the period to present the report with the conclusions, which will serve as the basis for future legislative changes. Instead of June 30, the deadline was moved to September 30.
This is what the Ministry of Labor says in response to the Observer’s questions: “The Working Group requested the Ministry to extend the deadline for sending the report until September 30“said an official source.
In March, the Secretary of State for Labor, Miguel Fontes, told the Observer that the government would create a working group to “Revisit” the Social Security scheme for domestic service, reassessing issues such as the social protection of workers and the contributory system. The creation of the group was accelerated by the news, at that time, that, with the entry into force of the decent work agenda, the criminalization of undeclared work would include, by drag, domestic service.
