The Government invests 150 thousand euros to promote sustainable bioeconomy

The Government will invest 150 thousand euros to Support projects to promote sustainable bioeconomy and circular economy and promote the adoption of sustainable practicesthe Ministry of Environment and Energy revealed on Tuesday.

In a statement, the ministry indicates that it was approved the financing of a communication project that “amounts to 150 thousand euros, and aims to strengthen information and public awareness”.

Among other initiatives, It is planned to produce a documentary and organize a thematic conference, entitled “Bio.nomia”, which will bring together experts, stakeholders and the general public to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the sustainable bioeconomy.

According to the ministry, information will also be provided on ongoing initiatives, highlighting innovative plans and good practices, as well as tools and resources to support companies and researchers in developing their projects.

“The transition towards a sustainable bioeconomy and a circular economy is crucial for the environmental and economic future of the country. “With this investment, all sectors of society will be involved in the adoption of sustainable practices and, at the same time, educate, inform and motivate concrete actions that contribute to the sustainability objectives of the country and the European Union,” explained the Minister of Environment and Energy, Maria da Graça Carvalho.

The project will be developed by the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) and will receive funding from the Environmental Fund, the authority added.
